Research On The Serial Indexable Milling Cutter Parametric Design System

The design of machine product is a complex course which includes many factors and many laches. To shorten the cycle of the new product development and improve the design quality to accommodate market competition, at present, a new technology whose core is CAD would be the main support tool for the modern machine design. Traditional CAD technology which based on the geometry modeling cannot satisfy the demand of the industry department to the integrated and aptitud CAD system. Now a new generation of the integrated and aptituded CAD system comes to be studied, in which the design based on parameter and character is his key technology. The main difference between the traditional design and parametric design is that parametric design can devise a family product model not a single product model. Based on the study of the design character of the milling cutter and the research on the method of the parametric design, a relatively thorough research on the structure of the indexable milling cutter serial-parametric system and its key technology are presented in this dissertation. And the serial-parametric design system of the indexable milling cutter is developed and some new methods are put forward in this dissertation as well.1. Based on analyzing the CAD/CAM system structure both at home and abroad and the design character of the indexable milling cutter, the way of the serial indexable milling cutter design is presented.2. Based on analyzing the parametric modeling method, characteristic parametric modeling matrix of the indexable milling cutter is established and parametric design of the indexable milling cutter is realized.3. The system frame of the data management and the implement method of the parametric graphic files are analyzed, the product data management system is established by the use of the ActiveX technology.4. The serial design of some frock is realized on the basis of the analysis of manufacture character for the serial product. And dynamic simulation of the indexable milling cutter assemble is realized on the research of the indexable milling cutter assemble process.5. Based on the theory research, parametric design system of the serial indexable milling cutter is established by the use of the software such as VB,Microsoft Access and SolidWorks.
