The centrifuges for sludge dewatering are typical decanter centrifuges, which are provide with widely application and worthy to be generalized and applied. This paper has simply introduced general operating principle and system architecture, and the system architecture of the Model WL-450 centrifuges for sludge dewatering, describing in much details the basic structural parameters of the bowl such as the half taper angle, the diameter of its small end, the depth of its liquid pool, the length of its dewatering area, and the basic structural parameters of the screw-conveyor such as the number and the pitch of its screw, the height of its vane, the clearance between the bowl and the screw-conveyor, the angle of the vane against the wall of the bowl; the data of the throughput and running power and efficiency in discharge has theoretically been calculated, confirmed and checked; the wall thickness of the bowl and screw-conveyor, and the thickness of the vane of the screw-conveyor have been analyzed and calculated; the design in engineering structure, the result of finite element analyzed and calculated; the design in engineering structure, the result of finite element analysis of the important parts and the result of the running test with load and no-load of the prototype have been introduced. By the analysis based on the design calculation and the check on its function parameters and the result of the running test, the author deems that, Model WL-450 centrifuges for sludge dewatering can satisfy the requirement of use, all the technical specifications and performances have achieved the anticipated ones, and the technology utilized has achieved the advanced level in the same kinds of technology at home.
