The computer aided embroidery machine is the most advanced embroidery machine, and with the fast development of the electric and the computer technology, the customer have the new request for the function such as the Ethernet, USB, Big LCD Display etc., but due to the difficult in the technology or the obstacle in the cost, it is difficult to realize these functions on the controller of the native computer aided embroidery machine.The computer aided embroidery machine's work principle is detailedly analyzed in this paper, and with the function request of the machine and the most new technology in the embedded field, the control system's platform based on the "AT91RM9200+Linux+ MiniGUI" is designed.With the features of the AT91RM9200 and the function request of embroidery machine, the control system's hardware modules such as the main controller, the USB, the Ethernet, the LCD display, the control of the principal axis and the frame motor are detailedly designed in this paper, and also the microstep stepper driver which is specially used for the embroidery machine is designed. The balance between the system's concision and the function's redundancy is wholly taken into account, and the electric isolation is also considered.The boot stage and the bootloader of the AT91RM9200 is detailedly analysed in this paper. The method to transplant the Linux operation system to the AT91RM9200 and the method to develop the device driver are also analyzed. Then the system's stability is enhanced and to be given the advantage to upgrade the system.The storage format of the embroidery data file is detailedly discussed in this paper' last, and the control arithmetic of the coordinate motion between the principal axis motor and the frame motor is specially designed. This control is the key part to realize the machine's smooth embroidery.This paper introduces the control system's platform, the hardware's modules, the method to transplant the embedded Linux OS and the arithmetic of the coordinate motion between the principal axis motor and the frame motor. At last some questions in the process of the system's development are concluded and the emphases of the next development and research on the computer aided embroidery machine are prospected.
