Vacuum heating furnace is a kind of heating equipment. It has been widely used in oil and gas gathering and transportation in oil field. Although it has many merits, such as safety, reliability and so on, the safe operation is still very important as a kind of heating equipment used in oil field. So it needs to be examined and repaired frequently and maintained in time. Otherwise, some accidents may be happened such as conflagration and explosion. It probably results in irreparable loss and bad influences. As a result it is necessary and significant to research the reliability of vacuum heating furnace. At the moment, people do less research on the reliability of vacuum heating furnace. In order to improve the reliability of vacuum heating furnace further, this paper sets up the fault tree, looks for the main reason of the fault and analyzes the weaknesses of system that lead the fault..First of all, this paper discusses the history of development of vacuum heating furnace, elaborates the development of reliability research and analyzes the content and meaning of reliability study. Secondly, the thesis makes researches on the application of vacuum heating furnace in oil field and elaborates performance and characteristics of vacuum heating furnace. With the help of reliability theory and the fault tree analysis, the thesis sets up the fault tree of vacuum heating furnace system and analyzes the fault quantitatively and qualitatively. As a result, it finds the weaknesses that influence the reliability of the system and provides some references for improving production design. Finally, it states some contents about reliability management and maintenance.
