Objective Health education and promotion activity for community population and reinforcement intervention for hypertension patients were carried out in order to change the lifestyle, lower the curve of the blood pressure (BP) level, raise the level of knowledge, attitude and behavior (KAB) among the total population and increase the rates of awareness, treatment and control, aiming at accumulating experience for exploring an effective model on community intervention for chronic diseases.Method Community comprehensive intervention trial with self-control was used in research. The intervention population aged over 25 years old was selected through the typical cluster sampling method. Different intervention measures were used for distinct groups. Impact evaluation was constituted by qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data was managed and inputted with software of Epidata3.02. All statistical analyses were performed using the Stata7.0 and SPSS11.0 statistical software.Results1. The average ages of investigated subjects of pre-intervention and post-intervention were (50.48±13.78)and(53.15±14.03)respectively, and the age was increased 2.34 years for men and 2.91 for women after intervention averagely. The proportion of the population with over 55 years old increased by 23.8% (33.4% for women, 13.4% for men). The level of education for the residents was lower in 2006 than in 20042. In intervention community, the mean of systolic pressure in the baseline survey was123.1±17.7mmHg and that of the end survey was 122.3±18.4mmHg, and the mean of diastolic pressure in the baseline survey was 79.2±10.9mmHg and that of the end survey was 79.1±11.0 mmHg, both the difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention were not statistically significant (P >0.05). The crude prevalence of hypertension in pre-intervention and...
