Door-to-door survey by professionally trained investigators used uniform questionnaire , and collected samples for haemal biochemical detection . Epidata3.0 and Spss13.0 completed data processing and statistical analysis.2. Statistical methods included descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, univariate and multivariate Logistic regression model, Cox proportional hazard regression model. The standardized incidence calculated in accordance with the census data of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province in 2000 .Results1. The crude prevalence rate of hypertension was 54.50% in male , 43.65% in female, and 48.73% in total. The standardized incidence was 20.95%,16.30 %,8.16% respectively.2.
