Basic principles of hypertension treatment is prevention target-organ damage and drop of blood pressure. Liver Yang hyperactivity hypertension syndrome is a common TCM syndrome type. Tianma Gouteng Decoction, representative prescription of calming liver and suppressing liver-yang, has a definite therapy effect for Liver-Yang hyperactivity syndrome(LYI-IS).
