This paper based on the practice of Chinese teaching for foreigners,combined theory with practice,studied the process of teaching Chinese to foreigners.At first,this paper introduced the theory of linguistics and language teaching. Sixty years from the twentieth century,in the fields of Chinese teaching for foreigners,there are many research results about teaching methods and principles,the study of modern Chinese is also be deeply developed.These results of theory research have great effects on the Chinese teaching for foreigners.It is conclude that the practice of Chinese teaching for foreigners is diversity,teachers should have adequate language knowledge,on the other hand try to combine theory with practice, be committed to train the listening and speaking ability of foreign students,pay attention to each several part of Chinese,particularly,teachers should be aware of the importance of situation and language environment,in addition,teachers have to appreciate the integration of language and culture.
