In this paper, the backgrounds and progress of tower technology is summarized, the new fixed-valv.; tray (FVT) mainly researched in this paper is introduced, study on hydrodynamics performance and tray-structure is also introduced. The hydrodynamics (?)erformance and tray-efficiency of FVT were experimentally studied with an air-water system in a cp600mm circular column.Hydrodynamics performance such as dry-plate pressure drop, wet-plate pressure drop, entrainment, weeping ratio, etc. and tray-efficiency of FVT were measured. The experimental data have been correlated and new experiential models of pressure drop, entrainment and weeping have been established. According to different O2content in water on different point of column, tray-efficiencies were worked out. Factors affected on the tray performance were analyzed. The se models will play a reference role for new tray design and industry application.The velocity field of the li(?)uid flow on the FVT has been analyzed and researched. According to the N-S formulation, the momentum equations have been educed to describe liquid low on the tray with two-phase cross flow. Besides, the equations have been simplified on some assumption. The calculated results of the model lave been obtained by difference arithmetic and Guass-Seidel alternate solution, and the vector-distributing of liquid flow on the tray velocity has been acquired.
