With the rapid development of wireless network and spatial information management technology, the requirement of spatial information services by users at anytime anywhere is becoming more and more urgent. Driven by technology and economy demand, LBS, that could supply geospatial information services for anybody at anytime anywhere, is becoming practicable.In the application of LBS, the most important part might be the presentation of map. But, because of the characteristics of mobile circumstance such as the slow transmission speed of wireless network and the limited resources of mobile terminal, providing nice services for mobile users is difficult. In this view, we should think much of limitation of mobile factor including the wireless network and terminals, when we design LBS.Techniques of geospatial information visualization on Mobile terminal and techniques of geospatial information transport are important problems of LBS system in need of solving. This paper discuses application of SVG technology to solve these problems in LBS system, and the following facts are analyzed: the structure and the method of coding geospatial data with SVG, the techniques of transformation of other geospatial data format to SVG, the mode of service in LBS, techniques of geospatial information transport and Techniques of geospatial information visualization on Mobile terminal with SVG. At last some practice on the GPS navigation and LBS system is given.
