Toxicini is an important group of arboreal beetles, belonging to the family Tenebrionidae; it decomposed the deadwoods by fungal infection, so has important ecological value. Toxicini from China was systematically researched for the first time in the paper.176 illustrations,48 color plates of adults were provided. The paper is composed of 2 parts, which introduced the taxonomic status and distribution, classificatory background, morphological characters, materials and methods, phylogenesis and distribution features, biology and importance and discription. The main innovation achievements of this study as followings:1.In the classificatory part,3 genera 35species were recorded, documents and distributions of each species were listed, and the key to all species were given. During the study,10 new species (have been published) and 6 new record species to China were found, they are T. angustum Ren 2007, T. horridus Ren 2007, T. gladicornus Ren 2007, T. planicornus Ren 2007, T. obliqucornum Ren 2007, T.digitatum Ren 2007, C. brevicornus Ren 2008, C. longicornus Ren 2008, C. barbellatus Ren 2008, C. obliquicornus Ren 2008, and new records T. angustatum sub Kulzeri Kaszab 1956, T. mussardi Kaszab 1979, T.flavofemoratum Redtenbacher 1868, C.gazella Fabricius 1798, C.nudicornis (Fairmaire 1883), C. punctipennis Gravely 1915. Type specimens and Chinese new records are stored in Hebei University Museum and IOZ Museum.2.According to the 20 taxonomic characters of 21 representative species, we discussed the relationship of phylogenetic development about three genera of Toxicini, the relationship between the genera is:Toxicum+(Cryphaeus+Taiwanocryphaeus)3.Primarily analysised World Fauna and China Fauna of Toxicini respectively based on 6 genera 116 species and 3 genera 35 species, the results showed Toxicini has extensive tropical origin properties both in the World and in China. Oriental region from Malaysia to Southern of the Yangtze river as well as Madagascar and the Seychelles are mainly distributions. The genera and species presented island differentiation phenomenon obviously.
