Objective:To observe clinical efficacy of Stroke hemiplegic suffers with upper limb spasticity by tuina on meridian sinew nodal point combined with joint activities.Methods:50 suffers after stroke with upper limb spasticity were randomly divided into experimental and control group,25 in each group. Both were given a conventional system of drugs and acupuncture. The experimental group were also treated by tuina on meridian sinew nodal point combined with joint activities, while the control group were given routine tuina. We evaluated the efficacy before and after treatment to compare the two methods, using a modified Ashworth score standard, Fugl-Meyer motor function (upper) score, the Barthel index score table and clinical neurological impairment score.Results:(1) Before and after treatment, we compared the levels of upper limb spasticity by Ashworth score. There were significant differences in both groups, indicating that the treatment of both groups could significantly improved upper limb spasticity, P<0.01. There were little differences before treatment and there were significant differences after treatment between the two groups, which meant efficacy of the experimental group was better than the control group.(2) Before and after treatment, we compared the score of motor function of upper limb by Fugl-Meyer score. There were significant differences in both groups, indicating that the treatment of both groups could significantly improved motor function of upper limb,P<0.01. There were little differences before treatment between the two groups, meaning that the two groups were comparable. There were significant differences after treatment between the two groups, which meant efficacy of the experimental group was better than the control group, P<0.01.(3) Before and after treatment, we compared activities of daily living by Barthel score, There were significant differences in both groups, indicating that the treatment of both groups could significantly improved activities of daily living, P<0.01. There were little differences before treatment between the two groups, P>0.05,meaning that the two groups were comparable. There were significant differences after treatment between the two groups, which meant efficacy of the experimental group was better than the control group, P<0.01.(4) Before and after treatment, we compared levels of clinical neurological impairment There were significant differences in both groups, indicating that the treatment of both groups could significantly improved levels of clinical neurological impairment, P<0.01. There were little differences before treatment between the two groups, P>0.05,meaning that the two groups were comparable. There were significant differences after treatment between the two groups, which meant efficacy of the experimental group was better than the control group, P<0.01.Conclusion:Tuina on meridian sinew nodal point combined with joint activities have effect on suffers with upper limb spasticity after stroke.
