A Phonological Study On Xin Gan Dialect

This paper discusses phonetic problemes of the “Xin Gan” dialect.It describes thephonetic system as completely as possible,and comparing it with mandarin phoneticsystem,and with mediaeval times system as well,to make sure that reflect the “Xin Gan”phonectic system in the round.It discuss some phonectic features,which are mainlyabout the phenomenons of the literary and colloquial readings.This part is totallydivided into four sections,they are “geng she”、”xia mu”、“ri mu”、“tou mu”and “dingmu”.This part describes these phonetic phenomenons,including when it appears and inwhich condition it turns out with both readings;besides it discusses the phenomenonstheoretically,coming out with a conclusion that literary and colloquial readings representdifferent systems of different periods.In addition,it describes the tone sandhi intwo-character groups of “Xin Gan” dialect.It reflects the dynamic side of the phoneticsystem.It also describes the “xiao cheng” sandhi in “Xin Gan” dialect,and we know thatthe sandhi may happen in the four tones except the “ru sheng” tone,and find out notonly the noun words but also the verb、 adverbial and adjective have such sandhi,anddiscusses its syntax function and come to an conclusion that the adjunction meaning of“little” has been weaken.
