Risk Research Of CNPC Logging ERP Project

With the intensification of competition in the marketplace, Information Technology has been a necessary approach for the subsistence and development of a modern enterprise. As an important part of enterprise informatization, ERP System can bring advanced management thoughts and management transforms, and has aroused increasing attention of domestic enterprises. Due to the complexity of an ERP project, there could be various potential risks during the implementation. By study of the risk management, the success rate of the ERP project could be improved.This thesis combines theoretical research and practical case studies, uses risk identification as the basic argument, to perform the risk research of the CNPC Logging ERP Project. It is based on a research into pertinent literatures regarding ERP Project risk management, and the author’s work experience in ERP Project development and maintenance.The main work that has achieved is listed below:(1) Based on the theories of Risk Management, found a suitable risk matrix-based assessment system for CNPC Logging ERP Project.(2) Introduced the concept of lifecycle of project management into CNPC Logging ERP Project, built a list of risk identifications for the risk factors in different project phases, including project preparation, implementation and operation. Based on the risk matrix-based assessment system, further graded the risk factors such as possibility, incidence, etc., and provided counter-measures for the corresponding risks.(3) Performed emergency rehearsals for important risk scenarios which have been identified, to improve the utilization of ERP system, and mitigate the risks.Through the research of risk identification and risk control of lifecycle-based ERP projects, propose effective measures to avoid risks, thereby reducing the risks in implementation and maintenance in CNPC Logging ERP Project, and could also be used as reference for other projects in CNPC which haven’t implemented risk management.
