Objective:1. To investigate monitoring capacity of drinking water quality in Hunan province’s CDCs at all levels.2. To analyse problems of CDCs at all levels in Hunan Province in drinking water hygiene monitoring.Methods:According to the new "drinking water health standards"(GB5749-2006) of the Ministry of health, we designed the monitoring ability questionnaire, including fundamental condition of Hunan province’s CDC labs at all levels, basic informations of Staff, the detection ability basic situation of106drinking water project of and relevant equipments.Results:1.The basic situation of all levels of disease control laboratory:94.93%of disease control institutions obtained the certificate for measurement attestation; the laboratory area in more than half of the the CDCs below the provincial level was less than500m2; quality inspection personnel education was mainly in college.and the title to the beginning, intermediate, focusing on age between30-40years old.2. Water quality monitoring:The rate of CDCs at all levels on conventional water quality detection index monitoring was71.24%, wherever, the provincial monitoring capacity reached100%; city monitoring capacity of87.75%; county-level city monitoring capacity of76.93%; the county (District) level monitoring capacity of67.96%. On the quality of non conventional detection indexes monitoring rate was8.76%, wherein, the provincial monitoring capacity reached96.87%; city monitoring capacity of28.24%; county-level city monitoring capacity of6.15%; the county (District) level monitoring capacity of5.78%. City, county (District) level could not monitor the projects mainly in radioactive indicators of gross alpha and gross beta radioactivity, and toxicology in chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, index of bromate, formaldehyde, chlorite, chlorate, chloramines, chlorine dioxide, ozone.3. The hygiene of drinking water monitoring equipment: county-level city CDCs lack of some basic physical and chemical testing equipment, CDCs without a equipped with more advanced large-scale equipment.Conclusion:The accreditation rate of CDCs’institutions laboratory below the provincial level is low. The inspection personnel quality is low, the disease control institutions at the county-level lack of water quality testing equipment. The ability of drinking water quality monitoring is to be strengthened urgently.
