Objective:To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of occupational diseases in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province from2001to2010, and provide a scientific basis for drawing protective measures against occupational diseases.Method:Case report data of occupational diseases in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province which were selected from the "occupational disease report card" and "the pneumoconiosis report card" by the occupational organizations were entered into Excel database and analyzed by SPSS17.0statistical software. Statistical tests for significance were performed by use of x2test、fisher exact test、variance test and so on. All statistical tests were taken two-sided test, the test level was0.05.Results:1. There was a downward trend in the number of reported cases of occupational diseases from2001to2010in Zhuzhou City.The majority of occupational diseases were the pneumoconiosis (860cases,78.2%) and the occupational ENT diseases (140cases, accounting for12.7%) during2001to2010. The occupational diseases were dominated by men (1046cases, accounting for95.1%).The40-49years take most of the occupational patients. There were more than100kinds of the jobs, and the main of them were mining workers (293cases,26.6%) and excavation work (178cases,16.2%).2. The pneumoconiosis patients were male patients, accounting for99.07%; The age of onset were mainly in the age of40-49years old and50-59year old; The coal workers’ pneumoconiosis(570cases,66.35%) took most of the pneumoconiosis; The main work types were the mining workers(34.1%) and the excavation workers(20.2%); The shortest time of exposure was silicosis (13.9±9.3years); The minimum age was CWP (48.5±9.1years);3. The chronic poisoning with acute poisoning ratio was1:0.7, the male to female ratio was5:3. The mainly onset age of acute occupational poisoning was18to49years old; The mainly onset age of chronic occupational poisoning was at the age of40to49year old; The acute poisoning and chronic poisoning were different at the gender, age. The hydrogen sulfide poisoning and arsenic poisoning took most of the acute poisoning; The benzene poisoning and chronic poisoning took most of the chronic occupational poisoning.4. Male patients took most of occupational skin diseases and other occupational diseases; The onset age of the occupational skin diseases and other occupational diseases was mainly among30-39year old.Conclusion:1. There was a downward trend in the number of reported cases of occupational diseases from2001to2010in Zhuzhou City.The majority of occupational diseases were the pneumoconiosis and the occupational ENT diseases during2001to2010. The occupational diseases were dominated by men.The40-49years take most of the occupational patients. Acute occupational poisoning patients most were male,18~49years old, and hydrogen sulfide poisoning and arsenic poisoning. Chronic occupational poisoning patients most were male,40~49years old, and benzene poisoning and lead poisoning.4. Occupational ent diseases, occupational dermatology and other occupational disease most were male patients, the most of the patients were concentrated in40~49year old age group and30~39years old age.
