This thesis mainly consists of three charpters.In chapter one, a systematic study on the chemical compositions from Indigofera stachyoides Lindl was introduced. During the studies for the chemical constituents of I. stachyoides, a series of modern separation and purification methods were involved including column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, RP-18, MCI, Semi-prep HPLC methods et al. As a result.15compounds were obtained from the I. stachyoides. On the basis of their physical constants, spectroscopic data and modern analytic techniques, the structures of12compounds were identified as β-sitosterol (FJ-1), lup-20(29)-en-3-one (FJ-2), methyl hexadecanoate (FJ-3),lupeol (FJ-4), stigmastan-3-one (FJ-5), epicatechin (FJ-6),7,3’,5’-trihydroxyflavanone (FJ-7), daucosterol (FJ-8), stigmast-4-en-3-one (FJ-9); β-amyrin (FJ-10), dioctyl phthalate (FJ-11), lignin (FJ-12). All these compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time, compounds FJ-5, FJ-6, FJ-7,FJ-9, FJ-10and FJ-12are isolated from the plants in Indigofera for the first time, compound FJ-12was a new compound,named as isolariciresinol9-O-acetyl-9’-O-β-D-xylopyranoside.In chapter two, the main aim was to study the chemical constituents of Blumea balsamifera DC. On the basis of their physical constants, spectroscopic data and modern analytic techniques, a new ent-labdane diterpenoid (F-9), named as balsamiferine Z, along with other known compounds, blumeatin (F-1), dihydroquercetin-4’-methylether (F-2), rhamnetin (F-3). dihydroquercetin-7,4’-dimethylether (F-4),6,7-isopropylidendioxy-austroinulin (F-5),5,7.3’,5’-tetrahydroxy flavanone (F-6), balsamiferine H (F-7). dihydroquercetin-4’-methylether (F-10),1-ang-4,7-dihydroxyeudesmane (F-12). stigmasterol (F-18), octacosanol (F-19), hexacosane acid (F-20),3,5,3’-trihydroxy-7,4’-dimethoxy flavone (F-21),cryptomeridio (F-23),2-hydroxy-4.6-dimethoxyacetophenone (F-24).2.4-dihydroxy-6-methoxyacetophenone (F-26).In chapter three, in order to find the bioactive compounds, some of the isolated compounds from the two plants were investigated for their antibacterial and anti-tumor activirv.
