ObjectiveThis project is designed to establish the health archives of residents who are served by the Xiaoguan Community. This establishment adopts modern scientific techniques based on both research data on distribution of syndromes among hypertensive patients and it’s causes related, and the information collected on awareness, management, and control of hypertension among them.MethodsClinic questionnaires are conducted to175qualified patients with hypertension who received medical treatment at the Huizhongbeili Health Care Service Station of Xiaoguan Community, Chaoyang Dist. of Beijing, starting from November2012to July2013. These cases are classified according to TCM syndromes standards. All the basic information is processed and analyzed in SPSS2.0. Meanwhile, researches have been taken on awareness rate, treatment rate, control rate and people’s cognition of hypertension.ResultsA. The majority of hypertensive patients receiving treatment here are the elders. Females are well above males. The biggest group ages from70to79, up to62persons. Here come the results of three rates research:awareness rate hits100percentage, treatment rate at100, as well as control rate at64. That patients know there illness is set as the criterion of awareness rate. That patients take medicines regularly is set as the criterion of treatment rate. Blood pressure below140/90mmHg is set as the criterion of control rate. This result notes that the effects of awareness and treatment rates are just satisfactory, while control rate still has a long way to go. However, the control rate is still surpass28.2%, which is the national statistic in2002. In the survey of the awareness rate of hypertension related knowledge and the control rate in daily life, there are141persons knowing the importance of low-salty diet to hypertension and only58persons ensuring their low-salty diet.B. TCM Syndromes classified by descending order of the percentage go as follows: excessive Phlegm-dampness type (72cases,41.1%)> Yin-Yang Deficiency type (48cases,27.4%)> Yin Deficiency and Yang Hyperactivity type (43cases,24.6%)> Live-fire Hyperactivity (12cases,6.9%). Among these,78cases are blood stasis patients, accounting for44.6percent. Of72Phlegm-dampness type cases,42cases are blood stasis patients, accounting for58.3percent. Symptom types are classified according to age distribution as follows:Phlegm-dampness type is the most frequent from the age of40to49and from the age of50to59; Yin deficiency and Yang hyperactivity type is the most frequent from the age of60to69while Yin-Yang deficiency type is the most frequent from the age of70to79and over80. Of diseases combined, the most frequent disease is coronary heart disease (88cases,36.7%), followed by hyperlipemia (83cases,34.6%), diabetes (53cases,22.1%) and cerebral infarction (16cases,6.7%) with other diseases undeclared.C. According to the correlation analysis of patients’ BMI and TCM syndromes, if P is below0.05, the difference is statistically significant, and the survey can be continued to calculate the contact number of C=0.399.D. According to the correlation analysis of patients’ disease period and TCM syndromes, if P is below0.05, the difference is statistically significant, and the survey can be continued to calculate the contact number of C=0.364.Discussion:The survey of three rates related to hypertensive indicates that the awareness rate of nowadays patients has been improved a lot and they have more chances to have access to get knowledge of hypertension. It is favorable for patients prevent themselves from suffering from unstable blood pressure and its serious consequences such as stroke. The control rate is64%, surpassing the national statistic. However, only58persons can keep on a low-salty diet in daily life. Considering that this factor may influence the control rate, and the sample size is small, it still needs more surveys to draw deeper conclusions. In the hypertension TCM syndromes, old patients with phlegm wet indicates the highest proportion. The elderly patients over70years old are mainly with Yin-Yang deficiency. Of the72Patients with Phlegm-dampness, there are42blood stasis patients, which accounts for58.3%. It highly corresponds to the proportion of the transresistance of phlegm and blood stasis in modern clinical research. So the transresistance of phlegm and blood stasis can be considered as a single pattern of syndrome in future researches. Based on the analysis of body mass index (BMI) and the correlation between TCM syndrome types, the results suggest that BMI has correlation with TCM syndrome types. Because the syndrome classification after multiple classification sample size is too small, without any further analysis and the clinical course of patients also have a certain influence on the TCM syndrome types. With the growth of diseases and the age of patients, their constitutions may become weaker and weaker. Because the samples are adopted from Huizhongbeili Health Care Service Station and the number is small, subjective factors of the samples will be the inevitable impact on the accuracy of the results of the survey. Thus I will reflect continuously in future study, to be more objective and accurate.
