At present, educational practice have received wide attention of educational practice in various countries. Teaching Practice Guidance Manual as an important part of educational practice should also be payed attention to. Research it can benefit the teachers and students of the normal colleges and universities to participate in the education practice, both in the ideological and theoretical preparation; it will also enhance the guidance of education practice and improve the quality of education practice.Due to the convenience of date gathering, this paper selects the Student Teaching Handbook of California University and Central China Normal University as the object of comparison. Using the text analysis, comparing the Student Teaching Handbook of two universities from guiding ideology and content this two aspects.By comparing and analysis these two texts, the author finds their difference in guidelines and contents. For example, the Student Teaching Handbook of California State University pays more attention to student-centered guideline, focusing on the problem-solving ability of student teachers. But China focus more on theory to guide practice, showing a "theory-practice" one-way value. So the content of the California State University’s Student Teaching Handbook is more abundant and practical than the content of Central China Normal University’s Student Teaching Handbook. And the former has a strong guidance.In the third part of this paper, through a comparative study of the Student Teaching Handbook of California State University and Central China Normal University, finding the main reason of their difference. Because the United States pays more attention to "learning by doing", while China is still in the traditional teaching-oriented concept.Finally, by comparing the Student Teaching Handbook of California State University and Central China Normal University, we can learn its successful experience. And providing reference for China:emphasis on the development of Student Teaching Handbook; strengthen the function of the Student Teaching Handbook; enhancing the practice and instruction of the Student Teaching Handbook.
