The new type of flat cartridge filter has prominent advantages such as smaller space requirement, easier simpler installation and disassemble. However, it is still in the stage of development and has not been great popularization and application in domestic.The reason for this is that the cleaning process in pulse instant is complex, and the cleaning performance, design parameters, operating parameters are lack of technical guidance. Thus, based on the researches of circular filter cartridges and filter bags, the cleaning performance of flat filter cartridge was explored by adopting the methods of theoretical research, numerical simulation and industrial test.Through the establishment of pulse-jet test bench, and the adjustment of parameters such as hole, pulse valve, jet distance and pulse pressure, the peak pulse pressure were measured by pressure sensors under different parameter combinations,and then the optimum parameters for pulse-jet dust-cleaning and the stress changes of flat filter cartridge were obtained. The optimum jet distance is 20 mm, the optimum nozzle diameter is 7×?7mm and the pulse valve is 1". Besides, peak pressures of p1~p3which are opposite the nozzle are larger than p4~p6, and the peak pulse pressure of p4 which is not opposite the nozzle is minimal.The internal flow field analysis of flat filter cartridge was calculated by CFD numerical simulation software, and then the internal distribution of static pressure,airflow rate change rules and the export dynamic pressure distribution of injection hole were obtained. The results show that the static pressure of upper location between two nozzle is minimal, and the peak pulse pressures obtained from experiment are the same as simulation results under the same conditions. In addition, under 0.2MPa pulse pressure, the outlet pressures of 12 holes are equilibrium and the pressures are around70 KPa.Through industrial dust cleaning test, the rationality of the parameters design was further verified(such as filtration velocity, gas-solid concentration, pulse interval,electromagnetic valve and pulse pressure). The collector resistance and cleaning performance under different operating conditions were measured by differential pressure gauge and weighing method. Then the effect of operating conditions on cleaning performance was confirmed. For a dust collector with only one filter element,the filter operating resistance is very low, the filter resistance changes in a range of100~230Pa under a velocity of 0.45~0.8m/min. Also the greater filtration velocity, the required pulse pressure which can meet the demand of dust-cleaning is greater.Besides, after one pulse jetting, most of the residual dust cakes concentrated in the upstream of filter cartridge, and they sandwiched between two adjacent injection holes(about 40%~60% of total residual dust). This phenomenon is consistent with the minimum peak pressure of p4 and the minimum static pressure of simulated p4.The above work can provide certain theoretical references for application and industrial design of the flat filter cartridge and has important significance.
