Horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter is one of the main equipments for collecting industrial dust.Itfs suitable for high-space-constrained places in the industry,and its structure is beneficial to dust deposition.However,there are few theoretical studies on h horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter,whose structural design and cleaning parameters are lack of technical guidance.Therefore,focusing on the above problems of horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter,this paper uses numerical and experimental methods to study its air distribution and cleaning performance.The CFD numerical simulation software was used to calculate the air distribution of the horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter with two typical air intake on the market.The air distribution was evaluated by four indexes:airflow state,surface velocity on the cartridge,can velocity and mass flow distribution.The results showed that under the two air intake modes,the air distribution in the dust collector could not satisfy the above four index at the same time.In response to these problems,the common-used air distribution baffles with simple structure and easy machining were chosen to optimized the air distribution.The results showed that after adding the baffles,the airflow distribution could meet the four evaluation indexes,indicating that the airflow unifonnity was improved successfully.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)For the horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter with top air intake,the airflow state and can velocity could not meet the requirements.After adding distribution baffles,the air velocity entering the box decreased from 5.5m/s to 4m/s,the influence range of vortex reduced,the maximum can velocity decreased from 1.56m/s to 0.98m/s,and the relative standard deviation of velocity decreased from 56.0%to 44.7%.(2)For the horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter with side air intake,the airflow state,surface velocity on the cartridge and can velocity could not meet the requirements.After adding distribution baffles,the air velocity entering the box decreased from 6m/s to 2.5m/s,the influence range of vortex reduced,the maximum can velocity decreased from 1.15m/s to 0.99m/s,surface velocity on the cartridge reduced to less than 3 m/s,and the relative standard deviation of velocity decreased from 92.9%to 44.6%.The cleaning performance of horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter was studied by jet experiment and numerical simulation.The peak pulse pressure of the cartridge side was chosen as the evaluation index,and the cleaning performance of the(elliptical section 360mm×280mm)×660mm cartridge and the effect of c9160mm Venturi on it were studied.The main conclusions are as follows:(l)In the cleaning process,the static pressure and peak arrival time on the long side of the elliptical cartridge were less than those on the short side,and the peak pulse pressure along the cartridge increased from top points,mid points to bottom points.The top part of the cartridge was unfavorable for cleaning because the peak pulse pressure of the top points were the smallest and the positive pressure duration were the shortest.(2)The elliptical cartridge could only meet the requirement of effective cleaning under the jet pressure of 0.6MPa and jet distance of 450-550mm among the industrial common-used jet pressure of 0.3-0.6MPa and jet distance of 300-500mm.(3)After adding Venturi,the peak pulse pressure of each measuring points were increased,and when the jet pressure was 0.4MPa,the jet distance was 350-500mm,the effective cleaning requirements could be met.The above work is conducted to offer a preliminary study on the airflow distribution and cleaning performance of horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter,providing theoretical references for the structural and cleaning design of the horizontal pulse-jet cartridge filter in industry.
