Research On Pulsed-jet Cleaning Performance For Golden Cone Filter Cartridge And Its Improvement Using Venturi Nozzle

The filter cartridge dust collector is widely used in the dust removal field which has the advantages of high filtration area and high dust removal efficiency.The cleaning of the filter cartridge is the most important process that affects the long-term and stable operation of the dust collector.At present,pulsed-jet is the most commonly used cleaning technology.However,it has a disadvantage that is not uniform,and the top of the filter cartridge is insufficient.At present,researchers have proposed a new type of gold cone filter cartridge(with the inner cone filter layer dust filter,the cone is generally metal,so it is referred to as a gold cone filter cartridge).They expect to improve the pulsed-jet cleaning performance and the filter area per space through the gold cone filter cartridge.However,there is a lack of systematic research for the cleaning performance of the gold cone filter cartridge.Based on this,this paper introduced a venturi nozzle,constructed a CFD simulation of a gold cone filter cartridge,built a experiment system for pulsed-jet cleaning performance of the gold cone pleated filter cartridge,studied the performance of the gold cone filter cartridges and the effect of venturi nozzles on their improvement and optimisation.The results of the study could provide guidance for the development of cartridge dust collectors.The main content of this article was as follows.(1)The spatial and temporal distribution of the pressure in a normal cartridge and a pleated gold cone cartridge was investigated by means of 3D simulations.It also explored the effect of nozzle angle changes on the cleaning performance of a combination of pleated gold cone cartridges and plain nozzles,and analysed the variation pattern of the injection performance.It was found that the static pressure energy in the middle and lower part of the pleated gold cone filter cartridge is larger and the pressure distribution in the cartridge is more uniform.The uniformity of airflow distribution in the filter cartridge,showed an increase with the nozzle angle when the nozzle angle is-50 to-30° and 0 to 30°,and achieved maximum values of 0.06 and 0.12 at-30° and 30°,showed a gradual weakening trend at nozzle angles of-30 to 0°.This is mainly due to changes in vortex position by the angle of nozzle.(2)In this paper,two-dimensional numerical simulations were used to investigate the effect of injection height and nozzle diffusion angle on the cleaning performance of the combination of venturi nozzle and gold cone filter cartridge.It found that venturi nozzles and gold cone cartridges could be used individually or in combination to optimise blowing performance;at injection heights of 150 to 550 mm,the intensity and uniformity of the injection increases with increasing injection distance;when the injection height was 350 mm,the venturi nozzle and gold cone cartridge combination had the most optimized cleaning performance compared to the common nozzle and common cartridge combination,the injection intensity and uniformity increased to 1.72 and 1.96 times respectively;Venturi nozzle diffusion angle had no significant effect on the injection intensity,the uniformity varied with the increase of the diffusion angle,and was best at a diffusion angle of 8°,corresponding to the injection intensity and coefficient of variation of 2501 Pa and 0.20.(3)This paper constructs an experimental platform for pleated gold cone filter cartridges.Through offline pulse jet cleaning experiments,it was found that the injection height of 250~600 mm,the overall trend of enhanced injection performance,and at 450 mm,the venturi nozzle combination compared to the ordinary nozzle combination of the largest optimization range,corresponding to the injection intensity of 1282 Pa.The venturi nozzle was able to improve the problem of low injection pressure at the middle of the canister when the gold cone is high(Hc>710 mm);the venturi nozzle had a better effect on the injection intensity in the range of 560~810 mm compared to the normal nozzle,with an increase of about 15%.This paper used filtration-cleaning experiments to compare the effect of venturi nozzles on the improvement of filtration performance under three dust conditions:talcum powder,calcium carbonate dust and kaolin.The result showed that the venturi nozzle is best optimised for talcum powder.It had a 18%reduction in residual pressure drop、a 59%extension in ash cleaning interval and a 16%improvement in comprehensive performance.Of the three dusts,calcium carbonate dust was the easiest to clear,while Kaolin was more difficult to clean due to its higher viscosity.Its overall performance was improved by 5%under Venturi nozzle conditions.
