Through field investigation,this paper records the phonetic system of Yue dialect of Hekou in Yangchun City for the first time,provides new materials for the dialect research in the Liangyang area.Secondly,comparing the phonetic system of Hekou and the middle age from a diachronic perspective,summarizing its phonological characteristics and revealing the historical evolution of its phonetic system.Finally,comparing the phonetic system of Hekou and its surrounding area from a synchronic perspective,exploring its phonetic features,revealing the consistency and difference of Yue dialects in Liangyang area and then putting forward views on the dialect attribution.According to the investigation,the Yue dialect of Hekou has 20 initials,47 vowels and 8 tones,has j and w initials oppositing to the ?,has not media vowel ü,completely losts the media vowel-u-,Shang tone does not divided into Yingshang and Yangshang.The results of diachronic and synchronic comparison studies show that Hekou Town is located at the junction of the Liangyang area,therefore its phonetic system is both influenced by the Chuncheng and Jiangcheng vernacular.Some of its phonological characteristics appears to be consistent with the vernacular of Chuncheng or Jiangcheng,others are self-contained.In addition,through the comparison of seven Yue dialect systems in Liangyang,Gaozhou and Zhanjiang area,we find that there are many phonetic differences of Yue dialects in Liangyang area,the distinctive speech characteristics that are different from those in Zhanmao area are not so typical.On the whole,the consistency of the Yue dialect in Liangyang area and Zhanmao area is greater than the difference in the phonetic level.The Yue dialect of LiangYang area should not be divided into the“Liangyang piece of Yue dialect”.
