Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of PFNA internal fixation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures.Material and method:During the period from September 2017 to September 2018,45 patients with advanced intertrochanteric fractures who underwent PFNA internal fixation in the Department of Orthopaedics,Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as experimental subjects. There were 19 males and 26 females, aged 65-88 years, with an average age of 75.51 years.Forty-five patients were randomly divided into control group(22 cases)and traditional Chinese medicine treatment group(23 cases). Both groups of patients underwent PFNA internal fixation for intertrochanteric fractures. The control group received anti-infection,swelling and analgesia, and prevention of thrombosis. The Chinese medicine treatment group combined with the above treatment, combined with the third phase of the fracture to the traditional Chinese medicine. The soup is taken orally. The clinical efficacy of PFNA internal fixation combined with traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures was evaluated by observing and analyzing the complete weight-bearing time, osteophyte growth and postoperative hip function score. Results: The total weight-bearing time of the Chinese medicine treatment group, the osteophyte growth score, and the hip joint Harris score at 6 months after surgery were superior to the control group. Conclusion:PFNA internal fixation combined with traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of advanced intertrochanteric fractures can promote the growth of callus, shorten the fracture healing time, improve the postoperative hip joint function, and enable patients to take the bed weight as soon as possible, thus avoiding the elderly patients due to long-term A series of complications brought by bed rest.
