| In Chinese history,most of the rulers of the regime in the south of the Yangtze River hoped to attack the Central Plains to the north and recover their lost territory,but few of them succeeded.In the late East-jin Dynasty,the political situation was turbulent.Emperor Yu of Song,a general of from the Northern Government,rose in chaos,after which he suppressed the peasant uprising and wiped out the separatist forces at home,and carried out a series of wars abroad and attack the Central Plains to the north for the purpose of recovering capital cities of two countries.He made outstanding contributions,and was able to build the Song Dynasty instead of Jin and become the founding emperor of Liu Song Dynasty.Although Emperor Yu of Song’s Northern Expedition was successful,it failed to consolidate its achievements due to the southward movement of military forces.Guanzhong lost its guard and the pressure on the region south to the Yellow River defense line increased,leaving hidden dangers for the military defense of the Southern Dynasty.By using the research methods of history and ethnology,and on the basis of systematic collection of relevant data,the thesis is to analyze the strategic decision-making,military direction and offensive and defensive trends of Emperor Yu of Song’s attack on the later Qin to the north,discuss the militaryand political gains and losses during that process,and sum up some historical experiences and lessons that can alert future generations.The thesis can be divided into three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.The introduction introduces the purpose of the selected topic,the current situation of Emperor Liuyu’s northern expedition research,and the significance of the thesis.The body part is divided into five chapters,discussing and analyzing the historical background of Emperor Liuyu’s Northern Expedition,the deployment of the Northern Expedition and the internal strife in the later Qin Dynasty,Emperor Liuyu’s westward advance and the strategic choice of the Northern Wei Dynasty,the Jin army’s entry into the customs and the demise of the later Qin Dynasty,and the abandonment of Guanzhong.The conclusion part summarizes the strategy and tactics of Emperor Liuyu after the Northern Expedition,the military reasons for the rapid demise of the Later Qin Dynasty,the purpose of the Northern Expedition of Emperor Liuyu after the Qin Dynasty,and the main influence of the Northern Expedition of Emperor Liuyu. |
