| Energy and meteorology is getting more and more attention under the dual background of petrochemical energy exhaustion and global warming.Doing a good job in the translation of energy and meteorology texts under the guidance of Skopos theory not only plays an important role in promoting the exchange of Chinese and western cultures,but also helps solve the energy,climate challenges facing the world today,and it can expand the application of Skopos theory.In light of the importance of current energy and meteorological research,this report selects the fourth and fifth chapters of Weather & Climate Services for the Energy Industry as the translation practice object.According to the objectivity,logicality,coherence and conciseness of the text,this report has carried out this translation practice under the guidance of Skopos theory.For the difficulties encountered in the translation process,this report discusses the translation techniques of translating energy and meteorology texts from the three aspects of Skopos principle,coherence principle and fidelity principle.In this translation practice,the main findings are as follows: under the guidance of Skopos principle,translation techniques such as conversion and preposition translation can be used;under the guidance of coherence principle,recasting,amplification,omission,and clarification can be used;under the guidance of fidelity principle,free translation and insertion can be used.Through this translation practice,the author hopes to promote the dissemination and learning of relevant knowledge in Chinese energy or meteorological industries,and provide some references for the translation of scientific and technological texts. |
