Studies On The Issues Of Misconducting In Scientific Pursuit

In this study, regarding the misconductinging in scientific pursuit as research object, the theories and methods of philosophy of science as well as sociology of science are applied to analyze the issues of misconductinging. The study is based on following steps.The theoretical analysis is on the basic concepts and practical issues examination. The former consists of conceptualization of the misconductinging in scientific activities, analysis on the active and positive effects of the misconducting as well as the relationship between them by a dialectic approach, and classification of the misconductinging. The later is explored from two aspects. The one are the issues of misconductinging in experiment, publication, recognition and scientific collaboration, the other are misconductings of the executants of scientific activities, mainly the authorities. This research is aimed at ascertaining the formation and evolvement dynamics of the misconductinging in scientific activities, therefore, arguing the preventative strategies.A closer exploration reveals that the form of misconducting varies in different scientific activity of the misconducting. In scientific experiment usually are relative to process such as designing, observing, describing facts and explaining the result, In publication, the misconducting which refers to the behaviors affecting the quality and acceptance of scientific work generally appears in the practice of writing, signing, submitting, scrutinizing and editing. To the newly coming, the misconducting appears as delay or even rejection of their scientific work. In scientific collaboration, it refers to poor output due to factors of disbennifit. To authorities, the misconducting appears as the behavior bringing harming effect to science as well as its practitioner.There are a large arrange of factors causing the misconducting in scientific activities, in this research, these causes are analyzed from both subjective and objective aspects. Subjectively, the practitioners are limited by their own cognitive level, knowledge structure, personal ability, and so forth. Objectively, the misconducting is caused by the factors such as the changing outer environment, driving interests, and unsound management of scientific activities.Based on the research on the causing factors of scientific activity practitioner and its environment, the author of this dissertation therefore argues the following preventative strategies: making joint efforts of practitioners and setting relevant regulations in advance to prevent its occurrence, and highlighting punishment after misconducting to strengthen the practitioners' sense of self restriction.Study of the concept, types, forms and causes of misconductings and exploring the countermeasures against misconductings are the main content of the paper.
