With the exacerbating of the environment pollution and resource exhaustion, the questions, such as green product ,environment sign and sustainable development etc have increasingly become focuses that people have paid close attention to, The clean manufacturing mode arising at the historic moment for this reason is being accepted gradually by the people, which have already become the leading producing mode of this century. Under such background, this research paper clings to the key technological problems that are around the cleaner process of the mechanical products, and launches the theoretical research and discuss with the views and methods systematically. The contents of the paper are the important part of Project "Basic Research on Theory and Application of Clean Production in Mechanical Manufacturing" (No.: 59775082) supported by The National Natural Science Foundation of China, The achievement of the paper has extremely important theoretical and applying value to implement cleaner process for the mechanical manufacturing industry.The main research contents are as follows:① Basing on analyzing the three focus questions, it explains the background and the inevitability for the cleaner process and analyzes the situation both at home and abroad at present, and also has pointed out the tendency of development for the cleaner process. ② With the clue of mechanical manufacturing industry' manufacturing process, it has explained the intension of the cleaner process and proposed six characteristics and four properties that the cleaner process has. On the basis of this, it has set up the model of hierarchical structure of the cleaner process. ③ It carries on detailed investigations and analyzes to environmental impact issues such as resource utilization, energy consume, environmental pollution, and points out that the main disease existing in the process are the low overall material utilization factor and the question of environmental impact that it causes, As to this it puts forward the corresponding settlement countermeasure.④ It has proposed six major principles of cleaner process design, and proposed two kinds of cleaner process design methods based on the theory of" environment room" and the analysis of "clean tree" .And it also has offered the course model of cleaner process design and applied examples.⑤ It Proposed the comprehensive appraisal functions of environmental property, mass property ,economy and productivity rate and set up the comprehensive appraisal index system,moreover,it has studied the concrete decision of the comprehensive appraisal for cleaner process, It proposed four concrete, practical comprehensive appraisal approaches, which are hiberarchy analytic approach, fuzzy comprehensive appraisal, process approach and value analysis and offered examples.⑥ Analyzes control at the end of pipes generally taken by mechanical manufacturing industry and its economic characteristic, On the basis of this, it has studied and analyzed the problems such as resource costs, boundary economic benefits, strategic benefits and set up corresponding mathematics models.⑦ On the basis of the theory and method studied ahead, it has developed the prototype system of the machining process design based on environment room and has explained the function structure and running process to the prototype system.
