Progress control is the main content of the production management for a single vessel construction. Chinese shipbuilding completions and orderbooks continuously maintain rapid growth over the years. What's more, three indicators which reflect shipbuilding capacity, have been fully overtaken Japan in 2008 and Chinese shipbuilding capacity has ranked second in the world. That shows China has become the world's major shipbuilding powers. However, a great deal of information shows that the level of China's control management in shipbuilding schedule is far behind the level of what in advanced shipbuilding countries. Obviously, shipbuilding capacity is constrained when China shipyards want to go further improvement.In order to ensure shipbuilding constructing schedule goes smoothly, and to improve level of control management in the schedule, this page goes further study on schedule control problems which exist in the process of some single-ship construction. Specifically, analyzing a single vessel construction plan system, discussing control theory and control flow of the single ship construction, identifying the factors which affecting the schedule process, establishing advanced assessment model of the single-ship construction schedule, studying schedule tracking as well as deviation recognition problems and last is proposing an adjustment model of schedule control based on knowledge management.Firstly, the paper analyses the planning system of a single-vessel construction. According to the contents of a single vessel construction plan, the program can be divided into the program plan, load plan and schedule. In addition, schedule is the main foundation based on which comprehensive shipbuilding line tables, schedules, the main timeline and monthly schedule can work. Also, planning system can be described in detail from the four aspects and analyze schedule control problems during the process in a single vessel construction.Secondly, the paper discusses the control theory and control flow of a single vessel construction. Based on the control theory, principles and organizational system, the article discusses how to improve the schedule control effect form three aspects of implementation of the full factory management, strengthening data management and refining division sizes of intermediate products. According to the control flow of a single vessel construction, the article analyses the main contents of progress control.Moreover, the paper identifies the factors which affect the schedule process. The factors can be easily identified from internal and external aspects because the research foundation of characteristics of a single vessel construction, a variety of literature, practical experience in shipyard and expert advice can be got. Then, each factor's weight is obtained by AHP.Forthly, the paper establishes advanced assessment model for a single vessel construction schedule. An evaluation system should be established in advance and then the advanced assessment model can be constructed and analyzed by Set Pair Analysis theory(SPA).Fifthly, the paper studies the schedule tracking and deviation recognition problems. Firstly, the paper compares and analyses schedule tracking methods and deviation recognition methods comprehensively, then analyses the work foundation of using earned value management which also be put practice in a single ship of schedule tracking as well as deviation recognition, and takes the DaLian ship enterprise constructing-ship as an example. At the same time, method process of earned value management is analyzed in detail.Lastly, the paper studies the progress adjustment problems faced to a vessel construction. Based on knowledge management and combined with adjustment theory principle, an adjustment model of schedule control can be established in order to briefly propose some useful and accordingly measures.This paper researches the problem about how to control the construction schedule faced to a single vessel construction. The paper is designed to provide a theoretical basis for shipyards, and shipyards can effectively control the progress of the implementation process and reduce losses due to schedule delays.
