Research and development tasks of digital design system need to continuously evolve to adapt to dynamical change of design objective and design environment.But the characteristic of digital design technology for product is the model in product design, analysis,process planning and assembly stages is different,which leads high information redundancy,lacking data consistency,high cost,low efficiency, and information integrating and inheriting hard. Therefore, in order to achieve integration and reuse of product information and provide serve for product life-cycle, it is urgent to set up a new model structure theory and develop software architecture technology based on advanced model principle and structure to implement product information integration, design process integration and reuse, and provide full support for digital design system.The research is based on'Advanced Design Theory and Method of Engineering and Product'―Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation(60635020). The system theoretics is applied to research the product information model and theory of general product digital design system.The mechanism and trends of product digital design system's evolution are discussed. The evolution laws of product digital design system are revealed.These investigation afford the support for providing scientific product modelling construction theory and digital design system's software architecture technology which can enhance the direction of the digital design system.(1) The paper proves that the digital design system is a dissipative structure based on analysing the characteristics of the product digital design system.The degree of order and order parameters of product digital design system are studied, and that product information model is the most order parameter for the evolvement of the system is provided.(2) The paper proposes that the digital design system is a gray system based on the analysis of uncertainty characteristics of system behavior and gray system theory. The product digital design system's entropy change mechanism for the relations between product information model and the orderly degree of system is analysed. The evaluation system for product information model is put forward and built. The paper establishes a distinguish model of product digital design system dynamical evolvement direction,It describes the system in an orderly manner and evolution direction.(3) On the basis of analysing the impact factors of evolution of product digital design systems, the'A Model with Four Bodies'product information model (AMFB model) architecture, which encapsulates Basic Body, Retrieval Body, Control Body, and Intelligent Body, is presented,as well as the'Independent Unit Information'(IUI) conception.Firstly, through classifying product information, summing up its characteristics and founding the data space model structure of product information,Retrieval body is researched, including establishing the relation of Basic body and IUI, and the following technique of information and model. Then, Control body is also investigated, including the control of the geometric and non-geometric information store, retrieval, management and the interaction of model and external resource.Some standard protocols of getting and expression of product information are proposed. The architecture of Control Body is provided. The serving function of model is embodied fully by achieving the'match to send'mechanism of model information and working course. The Control Body integrates three external resources, achieves dynamic follow between information and model, and provides information "delivery" for the design process timely. And the paper introduces the theory of Intelligent Body briefly.(4) Based on Open CASCADE platform, a soft system named AMFSDI is developed successfully, which proves the feasibility of implementation technology of software architecture. This feasibility of A Model with Four Bodies is validated by giving the pantograph design of high speed train. And the probabilistic human-computer interaction experimentation is designed by researching and its software implementation technology the automotive transmission and stamping die.The result shows that the principle of AMFB model is feasibility and the operational performance is excellent which assures that digital design system is promoting the degree of order.The modeling and integration platform software V1.0 (AMFSDI for short) with fully independent intellectual property rights has got the Registration of Computer Software Copyright. The research in this paper is significant in theoretical and software architecture application for the project technical fields such as information and machinery.
