Nowadays, most shipyards of our country are in a process of converting from conventional shipbuilding mode to modern shipbuilding mode. The production efficiency of shipyards in China is behind many of the excellent shipyards in the world. Some researches have proved that production efficiency is mainly decided by management level. So, in order to improve the management level of our country's shipyards and enhance their international competition, it is very important to deeply study all kinds of problems in shipbuilding process and explore various manufacture technologies and management methods.Based on current management status in China's shipyards, research of this paper concentrates on the following four aspects:First, an improved ship production breakdown structure is built based on the concept of Integrated Hull Construction, Outfitting and Painting. Then a three-dimensional model of Modern Ship Work Breakdown Structure (MSWBS) is presented, which integrates procedure structure. organization structure and product structure in shipbuilding process. It can dynamically show shipbuilding process and be an efficient platform for information exchange among various departments.Second, taking into account the effects of many uncertain factors, this paper develops a fully fuzzy time-cost trade-off model based on fuzzy sets, in which time and cost are expressed by fuzzy numbers. To solve this model, a fully fuzzy-optimization based on Genetic Algorithms is presented. It provides a practicable time-cost trade-off method for planning manager.Third, this paper builds a framework of integration shipbuilding supply chain management, and analyses how to apply it to the shipyards. Then this paper studies suppliers selection in shipbuilding supply chain management. The selection process is composed of two stages: prequalification selection and decision-making, in which the different selection criteria and evaluation methods for different stages are used. Finally, this paper uses event tree analysis based on fuzzy sets theory to analyse and evaluate risks in shipbuilding process.
