Manufacturing Execution System bridges the upper managing level and the lower control level in an enterprise, which becomes an essential part of enterprise information system. Traditionally, the MES software should be customized separately for each enterprise according to their specific requirements. Therefore, each time the process of system analysis, design, development and execution should be repeated once again, which causes big development difficulty, long developing period, high cost, low reliability, and bad re-structuring and integration ability. In view of all these, the article has put forward the developing mode of component-based MES software product line and made a research on the key technologies. Firstly the article analyzes the history, status quo and future trend of MES and the problems in traditional MES development. Based on the successful experience in manufacturing industry, the article introduces the idea of product line to develop the MES software in assembly mode. The article elaborates the key technologies involved in the component-based MES software product line development mode, including software component technology, domain engineering and application engineering. Consequently, the article provides a detailed developing procedure of component-based MES software product line. On the analysis the defects of various domain analysis methods, the article brings forward the idea of using domain ontology model as the MES domain model that improves the standardization and formalization of domain knowledge. During the creation of domain ontology, the article puts forward the hierarchical domain ontology model and development methodology, applies and verifies in the MES domain, Meanwhile, the articles creates a semi-automatic model to discover domain ontology concept from context to solve the difficulty in creating of domain ontology manually. The basic framework, principles and key technologies have also been researched. Based on the analysis of MES domain, the article makes a deep research in the design method of MES domain component and establishes a WEB-object domain component model and multi-level domain structure, especially suitable for MES domain. The domain component grain size and function has also been elaborated, component model of different grains been created and relationship and assembly among various grain components been researched. The article creates the MES domain component library, puts forward the facet-based MES domain component model and realizes the component indexing and extraction by the idea of artificial neural network, which greatly enhance the recall ratio of domain component extraction, with the combination of domain ontology. A prototype of MES domain component library has been developed to verify the above-mentioned model and extraction method. Finally, on the basis of J2EE structure, the article realizes the deployable domain component assembly by XML language and develops a prototype of MES software for disperse manufacturing.
