The Er lang mountain highway tunnel between Sichuan and Tibet is the highest of altitude, the most depth of under ground and the longest of unilateral tunnel in which intermontane highway tunnel having been completed indomestic by now, which has complicated geological conditions. There were some main geotechnical engineering problems, in that high - geostress rock burst, large - deformation and landslide geological hazards at approach road of tunnel.This paper made a overall systematic exposition of questions to geotechnical engineering monitoring and imformation cotrolling in mountain highway construction, which was combine closely large engineering practice. In order to instructe construction and majorisate design, it combined now exist qustions to geotechnical engineering monitooring and information controlling that have not been settled,taking the tunnel engineering monitoring and landslide of wested-approach road as principal leads. There were important results and contents in this paper.(1) Some basic theories and methods of geotechnical engineering monitoring and information controlling were exposited generally based on the research present in the world.(2) The geotechnical engineering monitoring information collection and disposition system was found. The methematic statistical method, response surface method and nervous network technology wrer apllied to monitoring information disposition that were analysed importantly, and the montoring information time — space effet amendent technology method were exposited.(3) The geotechnical engineering monitoring scheme was found according to the geotechnical information sythetic integrated theory and combined with the engineering practice.(4) Many advanced measure methods and technological means were applied to research space stress state at engineering region.(5) The means of inproved piston surrounding rock quadratic stress test and surrounding rock deformation tracing monitoring system (TMS) and landslide surground deformation simple tracing monitoring system were applied to collect...
