The vessel electric propulsion is an advanced propulsion mode, in twenties recently, it has obtained all-time flourish. The core is integrated full electric propulsion technology (IFEP) for the modern vessel electric propulsion, and the propulsion motor drive is one of the IFEP's key technologies. The propulsion motor's running and driving performances is very important for the vessel electric propulsion system to run successfully. As the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) performance is superiority, it has been applied widely in the vessel electric propulsion. In all kinds of PMSM, the multiphase PMSM has been used as propulsion motors, but there are many problems to be resolved for its control.The double-three-phase PMSM is mainly object in the paper, including general PMSM. DTC drives control has been researched systematically. The double-three-phase PMSM DTC control theory has also been researched, and its control algorithms based on space voltage modulation and hysteresis controllers have been presented and realized. Under matrix converter (MC) supply, PMSM control algorithms based on DTC theory has also been presented and realized. When the PMSM is controlled in DTC, the stator flux must be estimated; however, the estimated flux veracity is very key factor for the drives control system. The influence veracious factors mainly have variation of the stator resistance, DC offset in the measurement of the stator voltage and current. To successfully start the motor under DTC from any position, the rotor's initial position must also be known, and the magnetic polarity of the initial position is also identified. The relative solutions have been presented.The main contributions of the thesis are as follows: In both condition, the double-three-phase PMSM has been researched in DTC scheme. First, individual flux vectors produced by both sets of windings are combined. The relation of the torque and power angle is achieved in MT reference frame.
