In the recent years, China shipbuilding industry is growing fast, especially in some aspects of manufacturing design, operation process and manufacturing organizing. However, as compared with countries with advanced shipbuilding technology, China's shipbuilding management and information integration which represents the level of aggregation lags far behind. Therefore, the research on the theory of SPIM-shipbuilding project integration management is of great significance for China shipbuilding enterprises to switch into the modern building mode.Project integration management is a main part of project management knowledge. The project integration management method, which promotes the coordination of different factors and stages, is an effective tool to improve the management level and benefits. Based on the integration of knowledge e.g. modeling and optimizing method, SPIM is defined as applying the related method in the shipbuilding process, including new product development, ship design, ship manufacturing, management, operating and decision making, to achieve the objectives of overall optimization on quality, cost and time. This dissertation is a part of application research of project management. Based on the survey of developing conditions of China shipbuilding industry, the critical techniques on SPIM are studied with great emphasis to provide a theoretical support of SPIM realization.There are four main research works in this dissertation.(1) The Earned Value method (EVM)-a method of project integration management is modified in this research. As to the existing problems on time estimation and EV distribution of originaL EV method, a set of effective solutions are proposed by using Earned Schedule (ES) and Risk EV (EVR), which improve the precision of the method.(2) The application research of EVM on shipbuilding project was carried out. Firstly, the applying feasibility is discussed in this research. Moreover, the process and theoretical system of applying EVM on shipbuilding project are proposed based on the integration reform of management process of shipbuilding, including planning, information measurement, performance evaluation and controlling.(3) The model of ship piping production is built by using of the theory of integration management. Based on the analysis of production factors including product, operation and resource, the data structure of product model, operation model and factory model are proposed by using of UML (Unified Modeling Language).(4) The TOC (Theory of Constraints) based scheduling system is developed. The model of ship piping production are developed on the platform of Microsoft C# and Access/Jet. The system, which integrated the TOC's thinking process and the scheduling mode of the actuality, promotes the automation of operation design and scheduling process of ship piping production.
