Management information system compares with information service systembased on Internet at first in the paper. New contents and development trendsof forestry information system are studied based on summary of its developmentstatus in the wor1d at the same time. Then, usin8 idea and method of0bject--0riented (00), design and rea1 ize a service system of forestry resourceand envirorunent information based on Internet (FINF0SYS), and providecomprehensive services of information management, information sharing,e1ectronic conunerce and ana1ysis and decision etc. for forestry resource andenvironment information as well. At 1ast, demonstrate and exp1ain how to run,maintain, update and extending apply system. The content and resu1t of the studyis as be1ow'l. A series of standard and criterion of forestry resource and environmentinformation sharing is built. And four databases such as national forestresource, nationa1 forestry statistics information, spacial information andforestry catalogUe, which include more than 60 datasheets and 70G storage amount,are set up on the base of information c1assification, consistent coding,consolidate format and qua1ity control. At the same time, meta--data and datadictionary of sharing data are defined, and realize the functions of networkquick access, mu1ti--Query, network management and network transmission ofspacial and non--spacia1 data. Which provides a reference and demonstration forfounding national and regiona1 forestry information sharing and sharing system.2. According to current status and problems of national ElectronicCommerce (EC) with characters of forestry information products, put forward anEC model in F1NF0SYS, set up an EC system for forestry resource and environmentinformat ion products, real ize funct ions of onl ine goods se1ect ion, payment,de l ivery, trade and management etc. Which can provide a qu ick, convenience, andeconomic way to exchange and communicate forestry information with charge. Italso useful for rea1 ization of information mu1ti--va1ues and its sharingut i 1 izat ion.3. Bui1d up theme oriented data warehouse of forestry resource andenvironment, des ign on1 ine analys is and data mining model s for mu1t i--dimens iondata, make the database easier for analysis and decision. Set up six c1assesof mode1 database based on stati st ics and analysis method database, rea1 ize thenetwork running forestry resource and env ironment on1 ine ana1ysi s and dec isionsupport system. Which pioneers new contents for data online analysis andproc e s s ing.4. A right tree in right p1ace decision system in HeiLongJiang provinceis bui1t based on FINF0SYS. Combined spacial information with forestationknow1edge, the system rea1 izes amalgamation of mu1ti--information resources(inc1uding spacial, attribute and forestation knowledge etc. ) and itscomprehensive query. It is va1uab1e and efficient in practice of afforestat iondesign and plan. The system using TM image overlay with DEM mode1, which canincrease the visual degree, reflect information on the spot and enhance ana1ysisprec i s 1 on.5. FINF0SYS is designed as a Browser and Server (B/S) multi--layersarchitecture, in which a1l functions can run and realize through network.Several aspects are better than other systems: support multi--users simu1taneousaccess; multi--p1atform running; easy operation: low demands of users' hard andsoft environment; rea1--time updating etc.. It a1so uses distributed databasesand rea1izes the combination of multi--resources of database.6. The system uses idea1 of 00 including analysis, design, program andtest, which is usefu1 for dup1 ication of software, system management and update.Al1 the programs mainly wnitten by Perl and Java languages, were packaged with00 mode1s which is usefu1 for functions expanding and system stabi l ity.
