Body, Space, Time

This thesis bases on Gilles Deleuze’s art theory. By studying on Deleuze’s concept of " body ", and the relationship between "body" and "space"/"time", I am trying to rethink art history, art theory, and case studies in contemporary art in a new way.In this regard, this thesis contains five chapters. Among these, Chapter.1 mainly focuses on Deleuze’s Francis Bacon:the Logic of Sensation, by researching this text, and by the references from Friedrich Nietzsche and Michel Foucault, we can figure out the importance of "body" in Deleuze’s philosophy, which composes the content of Chapter.2.Further, in Chapter.3&4, when we put "body" in "space" and "time", Deleuze also created the concepts of "Nomad Space", "Rhizome", "Movement-image" and "Time-image", which are beneficial for us to understand "Baroque art", "Relational Aesthetics" and "Contemporaneity" more deeply.In a word, the purpose of this thesis, is not only studying on Deleuze’s concepts of "body", "sensation", and "life", but also finding how these concepts in philosophy have influenced our art creation and daily life.
