A Study Of Tongue Phrases In Ancient Chinese

In ancient and morden Chinese, the appositive phrase is a kind of an important,numerous and commonly used one. But the exlainations and controversies of the appositive phrases’ conception、construction and nature are not stopping. This article is a study on the diachronic development about the Chinese appositive phrase, compares and analysises the differences between similar types,then concludes the essential attributes and generate motivations of the appositive phrase.This article is divided into seven parts.First is an introduction. In Chinese grammer circles,there is a very big difference between the definition and trade-offs of “appositive”,and there are lots of results and views about it.The part mainly makes a brief introduction and review on the research status of appositive phrase. It concludes about the concepts, structures, types, compositions, semantics, pragmaties. Then makes instructions of the article’s selection value, theoretical basis and research methods.The first part is an overview of the ancient Chinese appositive phrase. First,the article makes a defination of “appositive phrase”,then divides it into three types:“NP+NP”, “NP+Pron/Pron+Pron”, “VP+NP”.The first chapter firstly determines the nouns which can take part in the phrase,then devides the phrase into two types, the positive phrase with a prepositive hypernym and the positive phrase with a prepositive hyponym,then makes a summary introduction about the generate conditions, fabric compositions of the two types. The second chapter introduces the “Noun-Pron/Pron-Pron” type of appositive phrase,makes a detailed introduction about the generate conditions, fabric compositions, main types of”Pron+Noun””Noun+Pron”” Pron+ Pron”. The third chapter makes a simple introduction about the “VP+NP”.The second part is the diachronic study of”NP+NP” appositive phrase. The first chapter is about the the positive phrase with a prepositive hypernym, divided into simple type, extended type and nested type. The article describes the different situations about the phrase from ancient to morden Chinese,outlines the development venation,and concluds the type traits of the positive phrase with a prepositive hypernym.The second chapter is about the positive phrase with a prepositive hyponym, divided into condensation type, adduct type, number type,list type and instruction type. The article makes an analysis of the above types’ evolution, fabric characteristics, structure types in diachronic perspective and concluds the type traits of the positive phrase with a prepositive hyponym.The three part is the diachronic study of”NP+Pron/ Pron+Pron” appositive Phrase.Mainly devides into four chapters to do the diachronic research of the ”Pron+Noun””Noun+Pron”” Pron+ Pron” and the complex type. The first chapter is “Pron+Noun”,the second chapter is “Noun+Pron”,the third chapter is “Pron+ Pron”,the forth chapter is the nested one,every chapter makes a detailed introduction of the above types’ of production time, basic types and fabric compositions,then concluds the type traits of ”NP+Pron/ Pron+ Pron” appositive Phrase.The forth part is the comparation of the ancient Chinese appositive phrase.Devides into two chapters,the first chapter makes the comparation of the type with a prepositive hypernym and the condensation type, then discovers the positive phrase with a prepositive hypernym is more than the type of condension. The second chapter makes the comparation of ”Pron+Noun” and ”Noun+Pron”. The process of the comparation is mainly about the evolution, fabric limition and the pragmatic differences, then discovers the “Pron+Noun” is dominate.The fifth part is the essential attributes and generate motivations of appositive phrase.The article considers Chinese appositive phrase is an Chinese phrase of coordinate, subordinate and interpreted. There are three generate motivations of Chinese appositive phrase are the Chinese grammar of Parataxi、the combined action of salience theory and economy principle of language and social cultural psychology of Chinese.The last part is the conclution of the overall development of the ancient Chinese appositive phrase.
