Dream of Red Mansions is one of the four famous ancient literary works in China. Thetransition phase of modern Chinese and modern Chinese is at its birth period, with a corpus ofvery important value. In this book, appositive phrases which have had the basic structures andthe meaning types of the modern Chinese have been used very common. This article has beensystematically studied on Dream of Red Mansions.This paper is divided into six chapters. Removing the introduction as a beginning and theend part, the main body is divided into four chapters.Preface introduces the significance of the topic, current research and research methods. Wehad a detailed review of the Dream of Red Mansions, historical studies on linguistics and thedefinition of appositive phrases.The first chapter took a summary of appositive phrase in Dream of Red Mansions, includingthe definition and category two. Definition section introduced criteria and methods to describeappositive phrase. Category section described the classification of previous studies on appositivephrases, using the classification structure of the system divide appositive phrases into three types:composed of two nouns and composed of a noun and a pronoun. An appositive phrase composedof two nouns divides into the latter noun in combination with the former noun and the formernoun in combination with the latter noun.The second chapter discussed the top type. We divided it into the general style and extendedstyle according to the complexity of the structure of the appositive phrases. We expounded everystyle in accordance with the meaning of the first noun, and count their numbers. Typicalexamples of description and analysis were selected.Chapter three discussed the lower type. Analysis shows that differences are foundcondensation type and style with modern Chinese savings is not large. This section summarizes the contents of chapters on the wholefront, summed up, Dream of Red Mansions, a book distribution parity phrases, and contrast withthe modern Chinese, pointed out that the characteristics of the place.
