Wehad a detailed review of the Dream of Red Mansions, historical studies on linguistics and thedefinition of appositive phrases.The first chapter took a summary of appositive phrase in Dream of Red Mansions, includingthe definition and category two. Definition section introduced criteria and methods to describeappositive phrase. Category section described the classification of previous studies on appositivephrases, using the classification structure of the system divide appositive phrases into three types:composed of two nouns and composed of a noun and a pronoun.
