Study Of Regional Convention And Exhibition Industry Development From The Perspective Of Pearl River Delta

With the fulfillment of Reform and Open-up Policies, China’s MICE industry has been rapidly developed, and at the mean time, pushes the relative industries fast growth. But some new changes and problems appear in this process. On one hand, the unbalance development of MICE industry among the different economic regions, on the other hand, in the economic region, this industry faces the new troubles, for example, the broken link of all the industries and improper distribution of regional MICE resources.The key function of MICE industry is to fuel the fast growth of the regional economy, which often lead to the priority of this industrial development. When most of the traditional industries get in trouble, the government hope that MICE industry become more and more stronger, acted as a new growth pole, make the regional economy fast growth and constantly development.But how to make the regional MICE industry more stronger and push the regional economy fast growth? This will be a new research project undoubtedly. This dissertation uses the theories of common economy, regional development, MICE economy, the third distribution to research this problem. Based on the situations of China’s MICE industry, the dissertation choose the pearl region as a case study to research the current situation, the regional features and all relationship of the regional MICE industry.On the base of this research, the dissertation give the three ways of solve the problems. Firstly, the market mechanism should be used according to the regional inner situations and the analysis of international MICE market’s experiences. Secondly, by government’s policy adjustment, according to regional economic theory, the research of geography advantages and build the industrial chain. Last but not least, by the third distribution way, for example the moral and ethics.The dissertation innovatively sums up the normal formulas about the study of regional MICE industry development. All the three ways of adjustment should be used to face the inner weakness and outer threat on the base of SWOT analysis.
