In order to cope with the energy crisis and power crisis in the early21st century, the theory and mechanism of demand side response was rapidly promoted to the whole world. The status of demand side response resources in the electricity market and the development of the electric power industry have been improved through world’s innovation and practice. Nowadays, demand side response resources have become an essential part of the optimization for power consumption mode and the improvement of end-use efficiency. At present, China’s power industry is facing an unprecedented challenge of carbon emission reduction. Therefore, integrated use of technical means, administrative and market means as well as the optimization for the use of demand are of great significance in the promotion of end-use efficiency and further improvement for control of total energy use. Under the current environmental conditions and future trends in the electricity industry of China, issues about how to evaluate the value of demand side resources to provide a reference to the demand side response measures and economy of the introduction for demand-side resources is of noticeable significance. At the same time, topics about how to give full play to the economic value of demand side resources in the electricity market as well as the balanced and optimal development of demand side resources along with the electricity market has become increasingly urgent. Based on these considerations, a series of studies on technical and economic problems for the demand side response resources have been carried out in this paper.First and foremost, evaluation system of demand side response will be built and put into evaluation. Evaluation indicators and system will be designed according to relative theory and characteristics of the various types of demand side response resources. The foundation for the evaluation process and content of demand side resource will be laid through this way. Meanwhile, the weight of indexes ought to be set through the rough set theory, and improved fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method as well as entropy weight and osculating value method will be carried out to value the demand side response resources. The evaluation process and results of the two methods will be compared according to a specific example analysis.Secondly, this paper will analyze the economy of demand side response resources in the electricity market. The research will be carried out through the characteristics of supply and demand for the general market, mainly from surplus commodities and secondary transfer. According to the differences between general market and the electricity market, the rest of this section will focus on the analysis of economy for demand side response resources in the electricity market, which includes the impact on the supply and demand curve as well as the elasticity of demand in electricity market. Meanwhile, new positioning of demand side response resources in electricity market will be illustrated from supply side, energy resources and price response. At the same time, Principles of economics for scheduling and pricing mechanism will be proposed.Thirdly, the establishment of market equilibrium model and scheduling mechanism with the demand side response resources. Demand side response resources will be introduced into the electricity market. The basic theory and structure of the wholesale electricity market and retail electricity markets will be analyzed. Meanwhile, relevant operating mechanism will be proposed in the electricity market, economic dispatch, and users level. At the same time, impact of the introduction of demand side response resources will be demonstrated by the establishment of a market equilibrium model for demand-side response to verify whether the market can become balanced or not. In the mean time, in order to fully reflect the behavior of all power market participants, relative theory and methods of game will be used and net flow algorithm is ought to be designed to analyze the overall operation of the electricity market and calculate the social welfare.Finally, the simulation analysis of market equilibrium which is compatible with demand side resources will be carried out. According to the model which has been previously proposed, example simulation analysis will be preceded. Based on the simulation results of several algorithms and models, the practicability of models and algorithms in this paper will be verified and whether it’s able to do the analytic demonstration. Then the model will be verified that whether it’s compatible to be applied to electricity market with demand side response resources. Meanwhile, whether the demand side response resources are able to be adapted to the existing electricity market structure is ought to be confirmed. This thesis has testified the balanced state of electricity market after the introduction of demand side response resources.The research provides a strong basis for theoretical methods and models of the introduction of demand-side response resources into the electricity market. And its aim is to form and regulate the electricity market operation mechanism which is compatible with the demand-side response resources. Furthermore, the promotion of energy-saving and emission-reduction will be supported.
