With rapid development of world economy, China is increasingly integrated into theglobal economy, and the integration process of domestic regional economy is alsoaccelerating. Under this background, the economy’s development and quality’s enhancementof counties are related to the overall level of development of its located area. Under theconditions of a new stage of industrialization, a new era of social development and a newurbanization strategy, county administrative unit is the most basic administrative unit of theorganization and management of a national economic and social development, and itseconomic position is increasingly prominent. This essay uses GIS spatial analysis methods toresearch on the space factors (land, population and urbanization, industry and transportation)closely related to the development of county territory economy and economic spatial patternin Jilin. Specific researches include:Chapter I: Introduction. This chapter explains the background, significance of researchand research status at home and abroad. On the foundation of stressing that China havingentered the era of the county economy, it explains the basic elements that constitute county’seconomy and the viability of a combination of GIS spatial analysis.Chapter II: area and methods of research. The chapter describes the location, the naturalenvironment, natural resource and the level of development of economy, agriculture andindustry. It explains the main elements of thesis and methods to be adopted.Chapter III: spatial features of land use in counties of Jilin. This chapter uses land-usedata of four periods of time of Jilin Province to build four landscape indices. It analyzes thetime-varying characteristics of these four landscape indices, constructs ecological risk indexbased on landscape indices and evaluates the ecological risks of Jilin Province in the fourperiods of time.Chapter IV: The research on spatial elements of population and urbanization of countiesof Jilin. From the perspective of the changes of administrative levels, the concentration ofpopulation and the expansion of built areas, the chapter summaries the general characteristicsof urbanization of counties of Jilin province. Then, according to eastern, central and westerndistrict of Jilin province, it investigates the general characteristics of various counties of eachsub-region. At last, from the perspective of provincial urban system, the chapter analyses thedivisions of function of the county–level administration and the spatial pattern of jointdevelopment of country administration.Chapter V: The spatial variation of industrial elements of counties of Jilin. Starting from agricultural development, the chapter analyses the status of agriculture of counties among thenational economy in Jilin province and the phenomenon of internal difference of agriculturalproduction. Then it analyses the level of industrial development in counties of Jilin provinceand its position in the national economy, explains the spatial layout features of the above-scaleindustrial enterprises. On this basis, it further analyses the spatial distribution of processingindustries of agricultural and livestock products and the pharmaceutical industries. Finally, itanalyses the level of development and spatial difference of distributive services, producerservices, consumer services and social services.Chapter VI: The analysis of transportation dominance in counties of Jilin. The chapterintroduces the transportation network of Jilin and evaluation methods including density oftransportation network, influence of traffic arteries, traffic accessibility. It makes use of visualanalysis of GIS methods to fit the pattern of density of traffic network, influence of trafficarteries, traffic accessibility. Finally, it makes use of models of coupling and coordinationdegree to analyze the spatial relationship between traffic dominance and county economicdevelopment.Chapter VII: The analysis of difference of spatial pattern of economy of county in Jilin.The chapter builds a series of economic indicators including comprehensive economiccapacities, both the amount of economic capacities and the ability of economic growth. Then,it makes use of measure indicators and analysis of spatial analysis methods of ESDA toanalyze the overall economic situation, spatial evolution of economic hot spots, GDP and Gi*index of gross regional product per capita. Finally, it studies the spatial difference ofeconomic capacity including the general characteristics of economic capacity and hot spot ofeconomic capacity.Chapter VIII: conclusion and outlook. This chapter summaries the main conclusion ofthe study, reveals deficiencies exited in the process of thesis and make some expectationincluding research scale and index system. |
