Reform and opening up three decades, along with the development of industrialization, urbanization process, a large number of rural labor into non-agricultural employment market, made an irreplaceable great historic contribution to China’s sustained economic growth and social structural change. In the case of dual social and economic, due to the household registration system, income, education, regional differences and other factors, making China’s rural labor force in the non-farm employment options are often in a poor position, most of the rural labor force is just a manual labor workers. In this case, the health status of rural labor to the basic conditions of employment opportunities and the survival and development of urban and non-farm employment. Have a good health status of rural labor force, which means better employment opportunities in non-farm employment market and certain non-farm employment income.Therefore, the overall goal of this study is based on China’s rural labor force for the study, and learn from the relevant theoretical as well as the existing research base humble, the application of micro-economic measure, through a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of how the health impact of non-farm employment of rural labor. The main contents include the following aspects:(1) Ask questions, introduction In this paper, the background and significance of the research framework and research innovation and inadequacies. The introduction and evaluation of the data of the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS)(2) Literature review, first expounded the theory of human capital and health capital theory, and then reviewed in the health economics theory about health. Secondly, the concept of health and the measurement of health-related indicators is described, followed by combing the health of the rural labor force non-farm employment issues related to theoretical and empirical research on existing research scholars at home and abroad for more comprehensive literature review to find out the lack of existing research and omissions, to provide a theoretical basis for this follow-up theoretical framework and empirical chapters.(3) Theoretical framework and health indicators building, drawing on health human capital theory and health function model results to build the empirical part of the theoretical framework. Secondly, the descriptive statistics on the the CHNS data in the health status of the rural labor force sample. Finally, build the health indicators used in this article.(4) Empirical analysis of the health effects of non-farm employment of rural labor force participation. The results show that the health status significantly affect non-farm employment participation, the better the health status of the higher participation of non-farm employment.(5) Study health impact of non-farm employment of rural labor time. Tobit model empirical analysis of health not exit for the exit of non-farm employment, but to reduce the non-farm payrolls time. Lower health stock will result in fewer non-farm employment time, and eliminates the time factors, the health impact time employment still exists, and fully reflects the dynamic characteristics of the impact of health factors to non-farm payrolls time.(6) Quantile regression, consider the heterogeneity of impact based on empirical estimate the health impact of non-farm income. The results show that health significantly promote the overall increase in non-farm income of the rural labor force, but for different income levels of rural labor force,the health effects is significant heterogeneity.(7) Conclusions and policy recommendations. In conclusion, on the promotion of non-farm employment of rural labor force and strengthen the human capital investment of some policy recommendations for improving the rural labor force healthy human capital, promotion of rural labor to non-farm employment to improve the income of non-farm employment of rural labor force, with a certaintheoretical value and practical significance.
