As one of the most important weapon platforms in human history, aircraft carrier is still playing a very important role nowadays, not only to protect the ocean territory but also to maintain the super position of a nation in the world. In recent years, some surrounding countries began to encroach our ocean territory and resource in east and south China sea, at same time, more and more pirates began to lock the targets on Chinese commercial fleets on some international voyages. Because of some reasons mentioned above, China has to build up a strong armada with super ability of fighting in open sea as soon as quickly, and it is the only way we can protect our ocean territory and resource, as well as protecting the safety of our international voyages.The general arrangement of flight deck on aircraft carrier with the mode of "catapulting taking off+arresting landing" was studied in this dissertation. The method of formula derivation, real design analysis and numerical example were used to discuss some important problems of general arrangement on flight deck. The quantity design of catapults, the arrangement design of the catapulting system, the arrangement design of arresting system and the brake process after aircraft arrested by arresting cable were analysed in this dissertation. Moreover, the angle design of angled deck, the feature of airflow impacted by supperstructure, the mode and quantity design of elevators, and the turning movement of aircraft on flight deck were studied in this dissertation, too. After packing up all the former researches, the methods of principal dimension design and general arrangement design of the flight deck, as well as the design principles of them were provided finally.The main modes of flight deck such as V/STOL (vertical and/or short take-off and landing) carriers, ski-jump take-off carriers and catapult take-off carriers were expounded in this dissertation, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of them were analysed. Moreover, some lately domestic researches about aircraft carrier and flight deck were introduced.The feasibility of using queueing theory in deciding the quantity of catapults was discussed in this dissertation, and some typical queueing theory models which could be used to study the aircrafts taking off ability were analysed, too. The M/M/1/K model was chosen to analyse the relationship between the quantity of catapults c and the average waiting time Wq before aircrafts get taking off, and the mapped relationship based on the pure theoretics was constructed.The accelerated motion feature of aircraft arrested by catapult shuttle was given in this dissertation, as well as the distance design between catapult and flight deck edge was analysed. Based on CFD method, the feature of airflow behind blast delector was reviewed, and the environment around the blast delector impacted by the distance between catapult and blast delector was discussed, after what the design principle of the distance was provided for the sake of safety on flight deck.The basic method based on law of sines or cosines used by U.S. Navy to get the aircraft landing excursion on flight deck was studied carefully, after what an amendatory method to get the distribution of aircraft landing points on landing way was provided, and the distributions of aircraft landing points under different conditions were obtained. The best arrangement of arresting cables on flight deck required by different qualifications were transformed to problems of multi-optimization under some restrictions, which could be solved by the help of a certain proper algorithm.The motion feature of the aircraft which arrested by arresting cable was studied in this dissertation, and the brake process of the aircraft with "eccentricity+angle" was discussed. The kink-wave was reckoned in the analysis and the calculating program was compiled and debugged to get different key targets in the brake process. The aircraft brake processes under different conditions were calculated, after what the curves such as "running distance-hook load", "running distance-acceleration" and "running distance-velocity" were created to provide basic references for aircrafts with different landing weights and velocities.In addition, some important problems such as the angle of angled deck, the mode and position of supperstructure, the quantity and position of elevators and the turning movement of aircraft on flight deck were discussed in this dissertation. The general design of flight deck and the safety of aircrafts which influenced by the angle of angled deck, the airflow which influenced by the supperstructure above the flight deck, the moving safety of aircrafts which influenced by the quantity and position of elevators and the basic method to calculate the track of aircraft's wing-tip on flight deck were studied, as well as the basic principles of them were provided.Finally, the methods how to define the main areas on flight deck were discussed, and the basic principles to design the principal dimensions of the flight deck were provided based on all the former researches in this dissertation. A typical flight deck was chosen to illustrate how to design a figure of flight deck and what should be considered carefully during the design, at same time, all the problems about key parts of it were expatiated.
