ObjectiveTo discuss the prospect of the Bayesian Network in academic thought and experiential inheritance of veteran practitioner of TCM through using Weka(Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis).To explore more effective methods by promoted experiential inheritance and development of academic genre of TCM. To analyse, summarize, and inherited the academic thought and clinical experience of academic Schools of Jinmo Shi.To explore diversified study approach of academic thought and experiential inheritance of veteran practitioner of TCM transforming from experience to knowledge to evidence. MethodsThe objective of research were diabetic cases of Jinmo Shi's school, which contains Jinmo Shi, Shenyu Zhu, Renhe Lv and Jinxi Zhao. According to required case format, using the unified design, standards and whole subject aims at protruding general data, history material, symptoms, physical examination, four diagnostic material, physical and chemical examination material, Chinese medicine diagnosis, syndrome diagnoses and prescription, auxiliary therapy and clinical practice thinking and utterance.The data including sex, age,doctor, complaint, symptom, tongue, pulse, blood sugar, diagnosis, prescription and so on were analysed by SPSS13.0to study frequency, concentrated tendency and disperse tendency of data.Weka3.6was applied to classify, cluster and correlate data containing symptom, Chinese medicine diagnosis, syndrome, treatment, prescription etc.CPIAS (Chinese medicine Prescription Intelligence Analysis System) was used to individually analysis dosage, property, taste and belonging to channel of herbs, efficacy of prescription etc.ResultsThe study finally collected938diabetic cases, in which there were414first visit and524returned visit. There were12first visit cases and11returned visit cases of Jinmo Shi,121first visit and216returned visit cases of Shenyu Zhu,203first visit and244returned visit cases of Renhe Lv,78first visit and53returned visit cases of Jinxi Zhao.Through the study of all chosen cases, we found that the main symptoms were atony (35.39%), dim vision (26.55%) and polydipsia (16.24%); the main syndromes were qi and yin deficiency(35.57%), deficiency of the liver and kidney (28.12%),obstruction of the channels and collaterals(20.77%) and the main treatments were eliminating the stagnant and activating the blood(85.93%), tonification qi (66.10%), tonification of the spleen (63.43%). The main prescriptions were Jiangtang Duiyao fang(27.40%), Gouji Yinzi (12.9%) and Danggui Buxue tang (11.30%). Danshen(66.74%), Huangqi (54.69%) and Dihuang(42.86%) were the main herbs.The cases of Jinmo Shi was classified by yin dificiency to analyse using the Bayesian Network. The rate of classified accuracy was95.65%, Kappa=0.7767. We found57structure relationship of disease-syndrome-symptom-therapy-prescription-medicine. The cases of Jinmo Shi was classified by qi dificiency to analyse using the SMO. The rate of classified accuracy was73.91%, Kappa=0.4615. And we founded distinct law of compatibi lity of medicines.The cases of Shenyu Zhu was classified by Tiaoqi Huoxue Fang (Huangqi) to analyse using the Bayesian Network. The rate of classified accuracy was99.41%, Kappa=0.9773. We found68structure relationship of disease-syndrome-symptom-therapy-prescription-medicine. The cases of Shenyu Zhu was classified by Shanyao to analyse using the SMO. The rate of classified accuracy was89.91%, Kappa=0.5661. And we found distinct law of compatibility of medicines.The cases of Renhe Lv was classified by Diabetic Nephropathy to analyse using the Bayesian Network. The rate of classified accuracy was70.6935%,Kappa=0.4122. We found98structure relationship of disease-syndrome-symptom-therapy-prescription-medicine. The cases of Renhe Lv was classified by dissipating stagnation to analyse using the SMO.The rate of classified accuracy was94.18%, Kappa=0.76. And we found distinct law of compatibility of medicines.The cases of Jinxi Zhao was classified by Diabetic Nephropathy to analyse using the Bayesian Network. The rate of classified accuracy was93.13%, Kappa=0.8489. We found81structure relationship of disease-syndrome-symptom-therapy-prescription-medicine. The cases of Jinxi Zhao was classified by yin deficiency of Shaoyin constitution to analyse using the SMO. The rate of classified accuracy was80.15%, Kappa=0.5109.And we found distinct law of compatibility of medicines.In addition, through using CPIAS we found some information about dose, property, taste, belonging to channel of herbs, efficacy of prescription etc.ConclusionIt can be confirmed that experiential inheritance and academic thinking of Jinmo Shi's school has gained excellent results. The method of excavating data has shown great efficiency in academic thought and experiential inheritance of veteran practitioner of TCM. However the study method of academic thought and experient ial inheritance of veteran pract itioner of TCM need more explore basing on evidencebased thinking.
