Stravinsky's Neo-classical Music Concept Study

The intention of this dissertation is to expound the ideas of Stravinsky's neoclassicism in order to understand music of Stravinsky. The writing of this dissertation consists four chapter:First, we study the process of developing of neoclassicism and make a summary of neoclassicism so that we can make a sketch of Stravinsky neoclassicism.Second and third, we analyze Stravinsky's neoclassicism from many angle in order to understand Stravinsky's attitude towards classicism, the reason for using classicism and the purpose of using classicism.Four, this dissertation analyze music of Stravinsky from compose technique and enrich ideas of Stravinsky's neoclassicism.we think Stravinsky disapprove of Europe neoclassicism, but he have to identify with Europe neoclassicism owing to his thought and experience, we give a detailed statement about Stravinsky's neoclassicism, this is our value.The dissertation avoids exploring Stravinsky in an all-round and systematical and avoids repeat and explanation of lacking purpose but meets the challenge of making small subject and endeavors to transmit abundant information.
