This dissertation attempts to construct a more systematic theory of Marxist practical philosophical anthropology, which can at the same time taken as a new meta- philosophical interpretation of Marxist philosophy itself. The dissertation is composed of eight chapters:Chapter I elaborates on the actual background for the proposition of practical philosophical anthropology and the bases for the relevant issues, pointing out that the characteristics of the subsistence status of contemporary man is the annihilation of subjectivity and collapse of meaning, the deeper cause of which lies in the separation of the ontological existence and the lifeworld of man.Chapter II elaborates on the historical deduction of the issue of man in Western history of philosophy and the various philosophical schools as well as the restoration thinking of the separation of the ontological existence and the life-world of man.Chapter III elaborates on the historical evolution of the notion of practice and the theoretical perspectives of practical philosophical anthropology.Chapter IV elaborates on the generation of the natural world: the continuity and discontinuity of the evolution of man and nature and the lifeworld of man with his original unseparated subject and object.Chapter V elaborates on the separation of the life-world and the dilemma of the separation of the ontological existence of man proposes a new interpretation of the study of man.Chapter VI elaborates on the nature of practice and the significance of integrating the separation of the ontological existence and the life-world of man.Chapter VII elaborates on the ultimate 揷omplex?of man --- the pursuit of unity, and further expounds on the generation of the integrated man and his life-world as well as the aesthetic world of ultimate concern.Chapter VIII elaborates on the significance of the practical philosophical anthropology in overcoming the disadvantages of traditional perspectives of development and establishing an overall modern theory of construction and a new perspective of development in the 21St century with man at its core.
