The Research On The Military Geography Of Guan-nei Dao In The Tang Dynasty

Currently, the research on the military geography of Guan-nei Dao is acomparatively weak "position" in the field of the academic research.Since the ancient time, warfare has been the main effect on the people's safety and nations' prosperity and degeneration. The stability of capital and central districts was the most important things to each state. Since the Cap! tal of the Tang Dynasty lay in Guan-nei Dao region, it was the center of the military deployment. This paper systematically analyses the relationship of all sorts of geographical factors to the war, as well as the influence on the warfare preparations and military actions in Tang Dynasty. The study lots us to know more objectively about the ups and downs of Tang Dynasty, and more scientifically evaluate on other relevant questions, such as the relationship between the Han nationality and the barbarian, the transforming financial policy etc.The paper has two main parts. The first part tentatively probes on the basic issues of the military geography in the Cold-weapons Period, the second part systematically discusses on topography features of the region, military traffic systems and the attacking and defending of the former war, etc, and summarizes the military deployment of its geomilitary thoughts and its time and space processing in Tang Dynasty.
