Research On Historical Geography Of Xi-he Lu In The Northern Song Dynasty

Xi-he Lu was installed by the Northern Song Dynasty. It was a product which the Northern Song Dynasty reclaimed northwest of the dynasty and strengthened matters pertaining to defense of the dynasty. It was also a model which the Northern Song Dynasty administered northwest of the dynasty.Xi-he Lu was set up in Xining five-year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1072). It was a tactical military commissioner Lu. Its official place was Xi state. It administered Xi, He, Tao, Min states and Tongyuan Jun. Today this is the Daxia He valley, Tao He valley, the west of Gangu County which lies up the Wei He and Xihe, Li, Dangchang Counties lie up the Bailong Jiang. Later, Xi-he Lu’s precinct added Lan and Hui states. Today this is Lanzhou City, Yuzhong Country and Zuli He valley. Then Xi-he Lu named Xi-he-lan-hui Lu. Chongning three-year (1104) Hui State belonged to Jing-yuan Lu. And Kuo State was coming. Then Xi-he-lan-hui Lu named Xi-he-lan-kuo Lu. Afterwards Huang State, Xining State and Jishi Jun belonged to Xi-he-lan-kuo Lu in succession. Today this is Huang Shui valley and Guide Country which lies up the Yellow River. In Jin Dynasty Huangtong two-year (1142) it named Xi-qin Lu.The thesis aims at hackling basic historical materials, deeply and amply researches History-Geography of the Northern Song Dynasty’s Xi-he Lu. And it will discuss the characteristics of the management system in the northwest of the Northern Song Dynasty. History-Geography is an important aspect in the study of history, for its properties the thesis without comment. The thesis is based on basic historical materials, using method of Historical Literature Study, Statistics and Comparative Study, from the angle of History and Geography. To research the original intention of Xi-he Lu’s instauration and the management of Xi-he Lu, at the same time, to find what the important role Xi-he played in the northwest military, political, economic and other aspects of the Northern Song Dynasty.The full text is divided into three chapters: The first chapter summarized the survey of the Xi-he Lu. Briefed about the purpose of setting up the tactical military commissioner Lu and main responsibilities, and expounded the formation and the process of objective Xi-he Lu. At the same time, to discuss the play of the important role.The second chapter probed into geographical aspects of the situation of the Xi-he Lu. Including climate, rivers, the development and utilization of natural resources and ecological environment changes, etc.The third chapter focused on the situation of historical human geography of the Xi-he Lu. To be discussed from the military and animal husbandry, agriculture, traffic, economic, national relation, etc. Finally summed up the meaning of the Xi-he Lu on the Northern Song Dynasty by the system in the northwest, stability boundary, contain the Xi Xia.
