The cross-civilization conformity of comparative literature is one of the major updated issues of Chinese culture re-construction and as well as a scientific approach to comparative literature research. The revival and development of Chinese culture in return have brought about the theoretical awareness of comparative literature and the academic system construction of its cross-discipline conformity. Under the framework of cultural revival and re-construction, the thesis attempts to probe into the originality and development of popular and refined cultures, ancient and modern cultures, and Chinese and foreign cultures in terms of influences, origins and media through the cross-cultural conformity. In a comprehensive study of literature, history, esthetics, culture and anthropology, the thesis also attempts to revivify the history of Chinese literature and culture and the developing trend of Chinese ideology and culture so as to identify the interrelationship between the revival of Chinese original culture and the development of comparative literature. An academic system of comparative literature is to be established in the theoretical discussion of history, culture and literature.This dissertation consists of five parts, and chiefly focuses on Chinese cultural revival and the developmental history of comparative literature, their relationships and some related problems. The introduction of the dissertation and chapter one raise related problems, and explores the internal relation of Chinese cultural revival to thedevelopment of comparative literature, and the significant theoretical topics of the integration of modernity and localism from the global perspective. Chapter two and chapter three summarize the cultural reconstruction of the revival of classical Chinese culture and modern renaissance, and the system of comparative literature to reinterpret Chinese literature, so as to grasp the cross-civilization humanistic basis of the revival of Chinese culture according to chronological order. Chapter four and chapter five deal from horizontal perspective with the confusion of modernity from the New Culture Movement to New Humanism, the multiple-track structure of cultural revival and cultural poetical system of new rational cultural reconstruction, and in the meantime discusse the integration of Chinese culture from cultural transformation to cultural revival, to cultural variation, and to cultural reconstruction so as to grasp the ways and future choice of cross-civilization integration of Chinese cultural revival. Chapter six, chapter seven, and chapter eight are concerned about cultural poetical system with Chinese and cross-civilization characteristics to reinterpret Chinese literature, and the construction of comparative literature, in order to understand the relationships between Chinese cultural revival and the developmental history of comparative literature, culture and disciplinary theory, and by so doing I bring out my own original ideas and academic analysis. Finally, in the conclusion of my dissertation I also summarize the relationships between the modern academic development, disciplinary construction, the Humanities and modern cultural development. In its conclusion I also explore the academic mission of Chinese cultural revival and the theoretical goals of comparative literature, and raise my own cultural rethinking and theoretical suggestions as to the problems relevant to modern social sciences, so that from the perspective of comparative literature I deliberate on the internal links between the cultural and academic mission, and cultural revival.Holding in line the relationship between culture revival and comparative literature, the thesis makes it a goal to dig out the way of the utterance re-construction of Chinese original culture, the process of its formation and globalization.
